Carrie & Nathaniel // Storybook Wedding in Wisconsin
When my sister first approached me and asked me to be her M.O.H I was beyond excited. When she asked me to design her wedding you could have pushed me over with a FEATHER.
Carrie and Nathaniel’s love began on stage during a high school play, and though their lives took them on different paths they eventually found their way back into each others arms. Adorable Right?
I began the process by presenting the Bride and Groom with two mood boards. Being that Nathaniel is an author, and Carrie always had a book in her hand since.. well since I can remember it was only natural that they gravitated towards the storybook direction.
Once we had a direction I started to collect inspiration from all over. Being that we were doing this from Coast to Coast I decided the best platform to use was Pinterest. I created a board for every detail of the wedding from the Fashion, to the décor, to the invites, even down to the favors. Once I felt I had a robust amount of options the Bride and I hopped on the phone. One thing to point out that these were simply verbal decisions with a few images of strictly inspiration. It was now time to create and shop!!
Carrie was an amazing Bride. She was very hands on with the shopping and creating, yet she understood and trusted me when I would say “Well that is a lovely idea however that doesn’t quite fit with our vision if you give me a few moments of time I can come back with a way we can achieve this and still have it fit within the design.” Talk about a Designers dream Client!
How was that achieved from coast to coast you ask? I wish I could say it was super simple with barely any effort but lets get real. It took a lot of communication through emails, texting images back and forth, and simply hopping on the phone for a few minutes to hash things out. Also creating a thoroughly detailed To Do list for the week of the wedding was a life savor.
Luckily when you are working with an experienced professional designer, we are full of tricks, techniques, and advice and will bring a unique vision to your memorable event. We have our organizational skills down to a science, so let us do the stressing for you while you are able to enjoy the fun stuff of planning and creating for your special occasion.
Simply put it was a Huge Honor to be apart of Carrie and Nathaniel’s blissful day! Congrats to the happy couple and Cheers to their next Chapter.
Please enjoy their Wedding Day.
